Marine AV

The Marine AV project encompassed the creation of a corporate identity, Website design with on-line shop, and Search Engine optimisation. The website is complete with a content/product database management system, website search and international translation.

The marine-audio.com content management system allows Marine AV to add and delete products and edit content and images easily, keeping the website up to date. The on-line shopping system links to a secure order form for credit card transactions. 

The dynamic site was originally written written in ASP, now updated to PHP. It features search engine friendly URLs so that the dynamically generated page URLs appear as static links, for example:

 /index.php?pageid=12 
appears as 
/products/waterproof_speakers.htm

This enables search engines to traverse the entire site, indexing the words in the URLs for maximum indexing exposure.

The site also features an advance publishing mechanism that stores the dynamic pages as flat HTML. This means that the slow response times often associated with database driven sites are avoided and pages are served in the fastest possible time.

To enable customers to quickly locate products of interest, the site has a website search function that searches for entered keywords and returns a list of results showing the closest matches first. By using a customised indexing engine, results are returned in fractions of a second, even though the index holds several hundred pages of products.

For international customers, a series of country flags link to human translated introductory pages. These then link to Google's translation service to help international customers locate the products they require.
